08.09.08 – all points west festival, jersey city, nj.
with some real luck, i was able to score a ticket to the all points west festival in jersey. the festival took place in liberty state park, overlooking the manhattan city scape and the statue of liberty. it was a really sweat place for a festival. i went on saturday on caught alberta cross, chromeo, metric, black angels, animal collective, and radiohead. the lineup was decent but the chance to see animal collective and radiohead in the same day sold me on the fest. as always radiohead and animal collective were awesome but the festival as a whole needs some work. there were lots of people there which turned into massive lines for food, beer, and the pissa. also, we were forced to drink beer in a so-called beer garden away from all the music. to top it all off, there was a 5 beer limit. weird. but for all my complaining it was a good time! it was very interesting bugging out to animal collective around a bunch of strangers in the daylight, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. i also, got to see radiohead from about rows back. how do you beat that!
