the future of rock and roll

i have been meaning to post about this website / internet radio station for a while now. based out of cincinnati, ohio, woxy is a radio station that can be streamed live over the net through itunes, winamp, or windows media player. so if you are bored at work and need to hear some cool music, dial in!

i have been listening to woxy for the past few months and have nothing but good things to say about the station. i have heard anything from wilco to tokyo police club to the hold steady to nirvana. i have even had a few of my requests played by the dj’s.

today, i was browsing the website and saw that woxy has compiled (20) lounge act sessions at this year’s sxsw music festival. snowden and land of talk both recorded interesting sets. so be sure to check them out, download the podcasts, and drop the sessions on your ipod. good stuff, especially the land of talk session. you can check out the sessions here.

speaking of…land of talk (a band that is getting lots of pub on the interweb these days, and lots of playing time around g.f.o.m. headquarters) will be playing an incredible bill with menomena and field music on 03.30.07 at johnny brendas. if anyone makes it to the show, be sure to snap a few pictures so i can add them to the site when i get back from my trip.
