making indie kids dance since 1885

04.12.07 junior boys @ the church, philadelphia.

last night was my third (and by far my least enjoyable) experience seeing the junior boys. not because they did not put on a good (albeit short) set but because i am not a big fan of the church. i understand that the place is for the kids, its basically their only option in the city for seeing a good show, but for the old folks like me there are better options. although drinking a 40 oz of brew in the basement of a church and checking out a cool band, sounds like alot of fun…it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. the place is very hot and the sound does not translate very well. the boys even made a comment about the sound system, not the first time that i have heard them complain about that.

overall it was a good time and i cannot complain since a random guy gave me and b.i. free tickets to the show. but i could not help but think that the show would have been alot more fun in the north star or johnny brendas (oh well, maybe next time around). and i did get to hear, what is becoming one of my favorite songs of all time, “under the sun” as the encore, which cannot help but make you dance the good dance.
